{ holidays }

wow! we are so blessed to live so close to both of our families and it sure can make the holiday season busy! we love it! we had 2 delicious dinners on thanksgiving and celebrated 4 christmases, just like the movie (except much classier!) in one day!

ricky's 30th birthday, las vegas, holiday parties, christmas, disneyland, zoo, family in town, usd graduation, cat adoptions, work, school, finals...is anyone else tired?! this is how we like to roll!

we got season passes to { disneyland } and look forward to going as much as we can. the best time of year to visit is during the holidays because it is just so magical...

we had a wonderful christmas and are thankful for the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

i graduated in december with my certificate in event management from usd! what a wonderful program and i really enjoyed it. i love all aspects of event planning (minus the contracts!) and would love to be a wedding planner, maybe a side job? i fell in love planning my own wedding and like all the details that go into weddings. they had a very nice ceremony for us and it was fun to dress in cap and gown again. let me know if you ever need an event planner, i'd love to help!

{ surprises }

sorry we haven't been able to blog for a long time! we have been incredibly busy during the holidays and have been celebrating some wonderful things. let's start with one of the biggest ones...

ricky's 30th birthday!

because this is such a wonderful milestone, i wanted to make sure this birthday was extra special and memorable for ricky. to start the weekend, i rented some private lanes and invited friends and family to go bowling. it was real tricky trying to get ricky there without him knowing, but it worked! everyone was there to say "surprise!" and he was very surprised! the kids had a blast with the galactic bowling and hayden bowled for the very first time and did pretty good!

after bowling, we were off on a flight to vegas and spent the weekend there! thanks to both of our families who watched hayden for us, we were able to enjoy a relaxing, romantic getaway together. from delicious dinners, dancing and entertainment, we really had a nice time!

we got a vip backstage tour  of the cirque de soleil show and it was so incredible. all the performers enter and exit the stage through water.

i had reserved show tickets to "let's make a deal" with wayne brady and we packed the miss la mesa oktoberfest costume and ricky's lederhosen costume from a few halloweens ago to wear. we were so hoping to get on the show! well....we did! we were the first couple called and believe it or not, we were offered a car!!! needless to say, we didn't win because we took a chance and went for it all, but had a great time and were honored we were even selected. we will keep you posted with the show date! ricky can cross another game show off his list!
