Canada, eh? Part 3

You thought there were only 2 parts to our vacation didn't you?! Yes, there is still more to the trip we recently took but have just been so busy! Here is a quick cap of Canada...After our time in up-state NY, we stayed at Belmont Lake where my Dad spent his summers growing up. His side of the family also came and stayed in a cottage (yes, east coast calls them cottages, west coast call them cabins) right next to us and just had a blast hanging out at the lake and having family barbecues and bonfires. We took excursions out to neighboring cities including Ottawa to visit the Parliament (thanks Aunt Joan for giving us a tour!) and enjoyed touring the markets and shopping. Ever had ketchup chips? They actually weren't that bad! My dad's favorite spot at the Lake is "Deer Falls" and it is an adventure just getting there! You have to take a long boat ride up the river, hit rocks, get out of the boat because of shallow places, hike up to the falls, cross dangerous slippery rocks with crayfish waiting to nip at your toes, (yes, the 2nd time up, Dad broke his foot!) But once you make it, there is a reward at the end! The "falls" is really neat because you jump in and the current just sucks you down and pushes you up at out! It really was a lot of fun! We had a great time getting to know the Lemperle/Rogers side of the family and Hayden loved swimming in the lake!

Nothing like taking a bath in the sink!
