{ we're finally going! }

to holland! 2009 has been filled with wonderful adventures and we can't wait for this trip! ricky served his mission in { the netherlands } and even since we were dating, ricky has dreamed of going back to visit. my dad's side of the family is having a reunion in germany this summer, my brother is already over there for school, we were offered stand-by airline tickets by an angel and hayden is under 2 and can still fly for free, so we thought now is the time to do it! we will be flying to amsterdam and seeing belgium, traveling down into france and germany for the reunion and exploring bavaria and austria. not to mention we are flying back to slc to attend allyx's wedding and finally come home. we can't wait!

as my own dad would say it, "it's the most important day of the year!" i am so grateful for my husband who not only is an amazing father, but has played mr. mom for me while i've been in school all day long these last few weeks.

{ summer school }

guess who is taking summer school? you got it! the girl who seems she can't ever get away from it! after getting my B.A. i swore i was finished with school. dunzo. complete. well, i still have scholarship money that is good for 1 more year and in this economy- who can let $5,000 go to waste? so, i decided to look into becoming certified in Special Events. i love planning parties, weddings, 10-year high school reunions (mine is this august!) so I found that USD has an excellent program. i just started yesterday and i love it! there are people from around the world in my class and USD is such a nice campus. I have to complete courses this summer (classes 6 days a week the next 2 1/2 weeks.) volunteer 100 practicum hours and finish a portfolio and then graduate in December with my certificate. So if you need any help at an event, I'd love to help!

watch out ladies! hayden has a new main squeeze and her name is Reese! we went to the Scott's birthday party for her and had a blast in the backyard waterpark. besitos!

this was our 2nd trip to nyc. we love it and could even live there. ricky won us this vacation from the gameshow he was on and we wanted to bring hayden from the very beginning. after dc, we took a train and spent 5 days in manhattan. instead of seeing all the famous stuff we saw last time, we decided to cater this trip around our little man. he is such a good traveller! we seriously were out til 10 p.m. each night and he enjoyed all the subway rides, 2 zoos, all the different foods and museums. if you've ever been to manhattan, you know that it isn't a stroller-friendly place. you should have seen ricky and i lifting the stroller up and down all the stairwells! it also rained most of the time we were there so you'll see a lot of umbrellas. "taxi" became hayden's favorite word while in the big apple. we even bought him a little taxi car as a souvenir. my camera stopped working the last day we were there (so bummed but canon fixed it) from famous frozen hot chocolates at "serendipity" to fabulous noodles on chinatown, shopping on 5th avenue to finding bargains on canal street, here is a montage of our adventure!

{ cousin fun }

we had a few surprises this month with last minute visits from some of my utah cousins! jake, ashley, allyx, kyle & his bro came down to san diego for a few days and stayed with us (i think that is the most people we've ever had stay the night!) and had so much fun! then, my cousins from SLC, the Dorenbosch's came to celebrate Kevin's graduation from the "U" and brought their sweet boys Carter and Mason along. # 1 request from both, the beach!
