The Dishwasher Stage

I was told that 9-months was when the "Dishwasher Fascination" sets in and lo and behold, it's true! Hayden LOVES when we do the dishes and when we open the Dishwasher. He just pulls himself right up, stands there and uses the opened door to guide himself around and likes to try and lift the dishes out! We love our little helper!

I LOVE MY BOYS!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! This is my first official Mother's Day and I am SO grateful to be a mother to our son Hayden and a wife to Ricky. I just LOVE my boys and they spoil me rotten. Yesterday, Mother's Day Festivities kicked off with the "Time Out for Women" Seminar that my mom, Ricky's Mom and also new mom and BFF Jessica all attended together. I was so excited to meet John Bytheway, my favorite LDS Youth Author of all-time. (Yes, I even got his autograph!) Then later, when I got home, Ricky and Hayden had surprises waiting for me! They bought me beautiful Pink Roses and surprised me and went and took Father/Son pictures. THEY ARE THE CUTEST! I was just so thrilled and thought that was the coolest gift ever- A perfect way to remember my first Mother's Day! Then, to top the evening off, my Chef Ricky had dinner prepared and cooked one of my favorites-Lobster! Am I spoiled or what?! I just love my boys so much and am so thankful for their love and kindness. I also wanted to thank everyone that has been a wonderful example to me...You each inspire me to become a better mother, wife, daughter, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law and friend.

Good Morning, I'm Troy with your Traffic Report!

Yes, it's true! I got the job! I am so blessed and thrilled that Heavenly Father has given me this amazing opportunity! I just got the phone call today and I gladly accepted. It is for the Channel 10 morning show. It is the back-up position which is perfect for my stay at home mom schedule and will be on-call so if you know of any good babysitters that could watch Hayden at 4 A.M. please let me know! My training starts next week so I better start practicing my traffic lingo! Thank you for all of your prayers-they really helped!

We are officially Mama & Dada!

Ricky and I had one of those proud parent moments last night. We were holding Hayden on the couch talking with him. He is a Champ at making the "Ma Ma Ma" and "Da Da Da" sounds. But last night, these sounds turned into titles! We were saying "Ma Ma Ma" and Hayden repeated it. We would say "Da Da Da" and he would repeat it too. Then we switched it up and said "Ma Ma Da Da" and he repeated "Ma Ma Da Da" EXACT! It was such a cool moment realizing that he is listening and learning all the time. Then today, he was crawling around downstairs this morning saying "Ma Ma" while I was down there with him. So, I think he knows that I am "Ma Ma" and Ricky is "Da Da". What a proud parent moment!

Let's go Swimming!

It was SOOOO hot a couple of days ago so we decided to take little Bubbe swimming for the first time! We decked him out in his first pair of boardshorts, cool crab sunglasses, a sun hat and of course covered him with sunscreen! Daddy took him in for his first swim while mommy videotaped this momentous occasion. Did he like it? Well, let's just say we can't wait to try it again! He did okay but cried here and there because I think the water was too cold for him. We had the pool to ourselves and later enjoyed the afternoon having lunch.

Timesaver Traffic Troy?

UPDATE! I had my audition this morning and feel that I did a great job! Another girl I was up against was totally "Miss Traffic" and had done Channel 8's Chopper Traffic for 3 years so I was feeling very intimidated and than I thought "Wait, she isn't employed right now and this is for a backup position?"-so that calmed my nerves and I have to say that with her 10+ traffic experience and this being my very first time on camera reading the monitors and maps, you couldn't tell the difference. I was very proud of myself. I did the best job I could and either way it will be a blessing. I can either have the job opportunity or I can sleep in! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! I will keep you posted when I find out.

Okay, I have not told many people about this but I just feel I need to post this because the more people I can have crossing their fingers for me the better!

I have been asked to audition for a Traffic Reporter position! My audition is tomorrow and I am so nervous. I haven't done on-camera stuff in over a year and I've never done anything LIVE like this before but I am ready for the challenge.

It's for a morning show 5 a.m.-7 a.m. (Yikes!) for a major network here in San Diego and I'm very honored to have even been selected to audition. What the best thing is that it's not full-time, it's for the backup Reporter because I guess unfortunately she is ill and they need someone reliable to come in at the last minute when needed. So, I can still be a "stay at home mom" because technically, Hayden is still sleeping and I won't miss out on too much!

Ricky and I have had a fun time preparing for this. Our living room now has a white poster board covered with the San Diego Roadways hanging up by the TV and I have added new words into my daily vocabulary such as "congested" "delays" and "expect to see brake lights." Fun! Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow morning and cross your fingers!!!!
